Education For Success
There are no specific educational requirements that are needed to become a real estate agent or broker, the minimum amount of education needed is a high school diploma. However, it is strongly recommended that agents have some prior college training. Many colleges and universities actually have a four year real estate major that prepares students in entering this career. Despite not needing a specific degree in real estate, both brokers and agents must take written examination that tests their knowledge about real estate principles and laws affecting the sale of properties in order to receive an official license. This license allows agents and brokers to practice real estate without being in violation of the law. Most states in the United States also require at least 30 hours of classroom instruction in order to become a real estate sales agent and 90 hours of classroom instruction in order to become a broker.
